The Wind

What everyone wants to know.

Windstats are always tricky.. No-one really buys into them, and truthfully, unless you experience them for yourself then it’s always a matter of conjecture.

In 2011 we had yet another epic year, and it’s fair to say that you could definitely count the no-wind days between March and November on one set of fingers and toes..  Not bad at all really.. it should go without saying that both the guests and the staff had a great year!

The stats shown are just a guide, and highlight as much the seasonal changes, as the wind strength itself.. For 2012 we’ll be posting them on our website regularly, with the intention of keeping us honest, and providing an accurate guide to 2012 at Moonbeach.

The actual wind stats on Windfinder’s website are yet to be adjusted for our local thermal effect. Being so far from a regular web connection we need to validate our stats manually, and this takes time. In the meantime if you multiply the forecast by 2.21 you’ll get a good idea of the localized wind pattern.

Happy Holidays

Well I’ve got to say that my trip in spring was one of the best windsurfing trips I’ve had – Moonbeach is the most chilled windsurfing destination I have been to, with great facilities, excellent staff and great conditions. And those dolphins -wow, the experience of a lifetime. Moonbeach is the best Egyptian windsurfing experience you can get!
